Before joining the SFM at the University of Neuch\u00e2tel, I was a postdoctoral researcher at the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/igs.berkeley.edu\/\">University of California, Berkeley<\/a>\u00a0(2015-2016), and\u00a0I worked as a researcher and lecturer at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipw.unibe.ch\/content\/index_ger.html\">Bern University<\/a>\u00a0(2012-2015). I hold a Master&#8217;s degree in Political Science, General Linguistics and Islamic Studies from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ipz.uzh.ch\/index.html\">University of Zurich <\/a>(2007), and a PhD\u00a0in Political Science from the University of Bern (2012). During my PhD, I was a visiting researcher at the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.eui.eu\/Home.aspx\"> European University Institute in Florence <\/a>(2012). \u00a0Other destinations related to my research and\u00a0training include the Universidad Cat\u00f3lica in Quito (2003-2004), the University of Ljubljana (2009) and the University of Oslo (2010).<\/p>\n<p>My research stands at the intersection of political sociology and (comparative) policy analysis, with a particular focus on migration and mobility. Our currently ongoing research project in the national research programme <a href=\"http:\/\/nccr-onthemove.ch\/home\/\">NCCR on the move<\/a> investigates the <a href=\"https:\/\/nccr-onthemove.ch\/projects\/attitudes-towards-migration-and-democracy-in-times-of-intertwined-crises\/\">erosion of democratic norms<\/a> in the context of migration induced diversity in the Global North and South. A second international research project co-funded by the Swiss NSF and the German DFG analyses <a href=\"https:\/\/data.snf.ch\/grants\/grant\/207667\">bureaucratic discrimination against mobile EU citizens<\/a>, and how it can be overcome, in different national administrative contexts in Europe.
